Welcome to our Blog! This is how we will be communicating to all our friends and family throughout this exciting adventure of adding to our family once again. This will not be a short process, they're telling us 2 to 3 years before traveling will occur to receive our daughter. While waiting we plan to do some fundraising along the way and would love for you to be involved. Please feel free to sign up below to be a follower of our blog, we are encouraging everyone to do this. Also you can click the link below to sign our guest book and write a comment for our daughter to read someday. Most importantly, please pray for our family, that God will guide us and allow all things to happen according to His perfect timing! Thank you for your support, prayers, and for joining us in our adventure to China...

Sorry, these are in reverse order :(

GOTCHA DAY!
WOW! What an amazing day! Words can't describe what this day held. We have waited, prepared, and prayed for this day for a long, long time, so there are lots of emotions back and forth, all around today! We started the day with breakfast downstairs in the hotel. We had some down time after breakfast, which is the first down time we have had so far, so it was nice.
We met Belinda a 1pm, she took us to the grocery store. We got some yogurt for Jazlyn, some water and some much needed chocolate for me! :) When we returned back to our room we hung out for awhile with Belinda. She saw our Bible sitting on the table and ask us if that was a Bible, and if we were Christians. We told her "yes" and she said "me too"!! So we go to talk alot about how she became a Christian and her family, and about her church. She asked about our church, etc. She told us that is makes her so happy when she knows the babies are going to a Christian home. It is really neat how God has placed people in this adoption process at the right place and right time and really protected us andreally taken care of us. Belinda is such a blessing to us. God has really shown Himself every step of the way!
So it was time to go get Jazlyn!! We hoppped in a taxi with Belinda and headed to another hotel where everything would take place. We didn't know what to really expect. Belinda took our picture in the hotel lobby before we went up (see pics). We went into a big room that had some toys and couches in it. We didn't know this was happening, but about 4 or 5 other American families came in that were getting their babies today also. Most of their babies were 18 months thru 4 years of age. One of the little 4 year olds came into the room first. Second was Jazlyn!!!!! It was such a great feeling to see her in person. The girl that brought her in and was holding her came over to us and as soon as we looked at Jazlyn, the tears started coming!!! She cried most of the time with us, stopped for a few minutes here and there, but the poor thing was so scared. We were just excited and overjoyed to have her in our arms finally, even with the tears!!! We left soon after and went back to the hotel to sign some papers - she did really well on Scotts lap in the taxi, but when we went up to the room, she cried for about 4 hours straight! :( She cries more with me - she is already a daddy's girl, which is great!
We found out today that there was a family that came to the orphanage and took care of about 5 kids ever so often, and Jazlyn was one of them. They said she was really clingy to the male in the family, so that is why she is taking so well to Scott. They called her "Yao Yao", that is her nickname. They also said "Gwhy" means "good girl" and they call mommy and daddy - "mamma and pappa".
We woke the boys up early so they could see her over skype for the first time. It was cute and they seemed very excited! Can't wait to have all 5 of us together!!!
Jazlyn ate dinner very well, but we are having trouble with the bottle feeding. She still takes formula, because in China they feed formula to babies till they are 3 years old. We have tried 2 different bottles, and 2 different sippy cups and nothing is working. We will figure more out tomorrow. She fell asleep on Scott while we were skyping the boys. Scott laid her down in her crib and she went fast to sleep - hope she stays asleep!
Tomorrow is an early day, because we have to wake up to go get more paperwork completed.
We are so thankful beyond words and can't wait for everyone to see our new sweet addition in person very, very soon!!

Your story is so inspirational. I cried more than once with this update about the Christian woman in China and Ian singing to her. What a blessing you have received in your adoptions. I hope one day this dream comes true for us too!
